What the founding rate is worth
| Sales | Standard (10%) | Founding (5%) | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| $10,000 | $1,000 | $500 | $500 more |
| $50,000 | $5,000 | $2,500 | $2,500 more |
Your payments stay yours
You sell through your own Stripe account, and the founding rate is applied to that charge. What that means in practice:
- You are the merchant of record.
- Stripe processes the payment and pays you directly.
- Your payout schedule is the one you set in Stripe.
- spiced.gg never holds your sales revenue.
Getting paid means completing Stripe’s identity verification, which is part of setting up payouts rather than a separate hurdle. Pricing has the full picture.
How to become one
- Make an account and take the developer role. Both are free, and neither needs a code or an application.
- Publish a game. Get at least one game live and through review. Publishing is what claims the spot, and the spots are claimed in the order the games go live.
What else comes with it
25 GB of bandwidth a month, instead of 2
This replaces your base allowance rather than adding to it, so a bandwidth pack bought on top stacks on the 25 GB.
10 free listings, instead of 2
Listings with no cash price (free or Spice-only), across your whole account.
A founding mark, if you want one
An optional mark on your public studio page. It is off by default. Turn it on in account settings, alongside your Spiced Plus badge and your achievements, and it appears once you are in the cohort.
The Founders Lounge
A private space for founding developers, where you can talk to other like-minded developers.
Be here from the beginning
The founding developers are the first 20 to ship a game here: the work that makes spiced.gg worth visiting on day one.
Questions
Does the founding rate expire?
No, for as long as your account stays in good standing.
Does it apply to all of my games?
Yes.
Does it cost anything?
No. Joining is free, and there is no subscription to publish on spiced.gg.
Do I need a Stripe account?
Only if you want to sell your games or collect donations. Publishing a free game needs no Stripe account at all. Selling a game, selling in-game items or taking cash donations all run through your own Stripe account, so those need one connected and verified.
What does “in good standing” mean?
Keep playing fair. No fraud or payment abuse, no prohibited content, no cheating or tampering with anti-cheat, no extra accounts to claim founding terms or a per-account limit twice, and no serious or repeated breaches of the terms.
This is about conduct, never about how well you do or a change of heart on our end, and honest mistakes get sorted out rather than punished. But an account suspended or terminated for serious misconduct loses access to spiced.gg, and the founding terms go with it.
Are there rules about what I can publish?
Your game has to pass review: it works, it is yours to publish, and it follows the content guidelines. Notably, no sexually explicit content. AI-assisted work is welcome; we ask you to disclose it per discipline (art, audio, code and so on) when you submit, which is what the AI content policy covers.
What happens when the spots are gone?
The founding programme closes and these terms stop being available.
