About
STICK RACER
A top-down kart racer scribbled on notebook paper, where the hazards are the desk.
Six karts, hand-drawn tracks, and a coffee cup someone left too close to the page. Stick Racer is a pure driving game — no items, no weapons, nothing arriving from off-screen to decide your race. Everything that happens to you, you did.
DRIVING Charge a boost by holding a drift through a corner, then spend it down the straight. Tuck into the slipstream behind the kart ahead and let the draft pull you past. Trade paint wheel to wheel — contact is symmetric, so nobody gets a free shove. And if you get it badly wrong, your rider leaves the kart entirely and has to scramble back in.
THE TRACKS Five hand-authored circuits, each built around one hazard that belongs to it alone: a coffee stain that steals your grip, a highlighter stripe, a dog-eared corner. Every track runs in four orientations — mirrored and reversed — for twenty layouts in total, and you can pick any one of them directly. As you climb, the paper changes underneath you: ruled notebook, then graph, then blueprint.
Two cameras, both first-class: a tilted top-down view, or Mode-7 sitting right behind the kart. Switch whenever you like. A minimap and a rear-threat indicator keep you honest either way.
MODES Survival — ranked, no continues, submits to the leaderboard. One run, one score. Championship — a full cup with continues, for when you want to finish the thing. Endurance — the field bleeds out beneath you. Single Race — pick a track, pick an orientation, just drive.
Rounds run six karts, then three, then two, over one, two and three laps. Score banks by how deep you get, with a style modifier on top — capped, so clean fast driving always beats showboating.
WHAT IT ISN'T No items. No random punishment. No pay-for-anything. The leaderboard is meant to measure how well you drive, and that only works if nothing else is allowed to interfere.
Keyboard, arrows or WASD, fully remappable, with drift on its own key. Sound effects, no music. Plays in a tab.
